The watchdog group OrganicEye demanded earlier this month that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) hold a public hearing — or face litigation — on the use of genetically modified or mRNA vaccines in organic livestock production. Needless to say, non-organic livestock are of course heavily vaccinated with genetically modified vaccines.
According to OrganicEye the use of genetically modified products violates the definition of “organic”.
It seems that the USDA and other certifiers look the other way when big livestock producers use genetically engineered vaccines in organic certified meat, eggs and dairy products.
Unfortunately, a big portion of organic livestock “farms” are actually just massive CAFOs (concentrated animal feeding operations). These "organic" “farms” are so massive, that the animals have no room to graze outdoors, are stuck in pens, and are disease prone due to these poor conditions.
Small farmers are either bought out by these massive corporations, or many of them just go out of business, unable to compete.
Small farmers who treat their animals with respect have no need for vaccines or even antibiotics.
Its these big livestock producers that are using genetically engineered vaccines for their animals.
The organic label has a strict prohibition against the use of genetically modified farm inputs and ingredients.
It's very unfortunate that the USDA doesn't actually enforce it. In fact they're scamming the organic consumer who is paying double the price of conventional meat.
GMO vaccines in organic livestock an urgent concern
The animal vaccine industry is projected to be worth $26.12 billion by 2030
According to Mark Kastel, executive director of Wisconsin-based OrganicEye, the issue needs to be dealth with now, without delay.
“The impetus for us to act now is the impending introduction of vaccines for livestock produced using mRNA technology similar to that used by Pfizer and Moderna to produce their respective versions of the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine,” Kastel stated.
“There is a continuing controversy in the country concerning this new technology and we should work to preserve organics as the last safe haven for eaters who want to secure a truly ‘natural’ diet,” he added.
It is “unacceptable,” the nonprofit stated, for the USDA to “kick the can down the road” on this highly controversial issue.
The issue is especially urgent as the animal vaccine industry is exploding.
Several new government- and industry-funded studies are underway to develop mRNA vaccines for livestock. The animal vaccine industry is expanding rapidly, and its projected to be worth $26 billion by 2030.
demand vaccine free meat & dairy
So what can we do?
Try to eat less meat and dairy. Especially, for those above the age of 40 or have a chronic health condition.
Try to buy from small organic farmers.
Unfortunately, the ball is rolling and genetic modification of vegetables, fruit. and even animals is spinning out of control.
New CRISPR technology makes genetic engineering quick and easy.
These new foods will not labeled GMO, because genetically engineered foods using CRISPR aren't considered genetically modified, although the end result is exactly the same.
Just another way around saying the truth.
We're living in tough times where food is being turned into poison.
The best thing to do is to connect with real people, real farmers, who care about what they're growing.
And educate others.
Consumers must demand not only antibiotic free & hormone free, but also vaccine free meat & dairy.
