The widespread use of social media is having a growing impact on mental health for people of all ages.
The average Adult in the United States spends 2.5 hours per day on social media. The average teen a whopping 4.8 hours on social media.
Parents worldwide are at a loss how to get their teens off of their iPhones. Limiting Screen time seems like a hopeless task: most teens feel as though their whole lives revolve around social media. They will find a way to log in even without their phones (borrowing a friend's phone, logging in from home desktop computers, or sneaking off with a parent's phone).
A survey of young adults ages 18-22 40% felt that they were addicted to social media.
But it's not just teens and young adults that need to worry about this growing addiction. Adults have a huge cause for concern.
Our society across the board is suffering from this digital crisis and no one is doing anything to stop it.
ADHD and Social Media
The average global attention span in 2004 was 2.5 minutes, which dropped to 75 seconds by 2012, and has since decreased to a mere 47 seconds over the past 5–6 years.
That means adults can't seem to stay focused on one task for more than 47 seconds on average. Some studies show its a its a little better (67 seconds). These numbers are incredibly concerning.
Studies have shown that teen social media users have twice the likelihood of developing ADHD symptoms as non-users. A study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association tracked nearly 2,600 teenagers for two years. Their finding were concerning. College students suffered a similar fate.
Our society is suffering from a Digital Epidemic, with social media at the core. It has become a societal addiction, with the average American teen spending 4.8 hours per day on social media which includes Facebook, tiktok, instagram, and youtube . Some surveys showed that teens spend up to 9 hours per day on social media!
The average Adult in the United States spends 2.5 hours per day on social media.
People can't even seem to take a walk outside without their phones. Take a look around: you'll be shocked at what you see. Everyone has a phone in their hands.
This epidemic has reached epic proportions and its taking a huge toll on our mental health.

ADHD in adults linked to social media use
Social media platforms are designed to be addictive- the more users engage the more they profit
How do Social Media Platforms make addictive content?
- by providing rapid and engaging content, often with short-form videos which can be highly stimulating.
- Notifications: Social media apps constantly send notifications
- personal algorithms which show content that would interest each user
The Dopamine Rush
- When a person uses social media, they experience multiple small bursts of dopamine . Each time one’s own post or photo is “liked” or commented on in a positive way, dopamine levels increase due to the social approval and attention from others. Dopamine also increases in response to novelty, and social media is engineered to provide a constant stream of new posts and videos.

Brenda & Ernie Garcia's Testimonial:
Brenda's Husband Ernie suffered from full blown Dementia, Insomnia, Extreme Anxiety, and Aggressive Behavior. She started him on the Calm and Tranquil 2 months ago. This is her latest Review
"Please share. I really feared for my life at times with my husband’s aggressive behavior but it’s like bricks have been removed from my chest! He’s saying more words, sentences and cussing 70% less which is such a relief as well. .... It’s been like a miracle of great improvements! The other day, I was putting on makeup and he said, “You look beautiful!” I said what, thank you!” I told him I was so happy & proud of him & that God truly blessed us with Joseph’s products! Since he’s been on elixir he’s singing more & whistling while I have music on YouTube on TV. Remembering more songs & things. Family & friends are astonished! Thx so very much Joseph. ...He goes through a bottle every 6 days. Blessed to have your amazing product for Ernie! Brenda Garcia
